This course is for people who work, or wish to work, at a trade level in the arboriculture sector of the horticulture industry, especially people who already have qualifications in amenity horticulture. In conjunction with relevant practical experience, the course enables you to develop sound underpinning knowledge and a broad range of practical skills required to cultivate, establish, maintain and care for trees and shrubs in public and private gardens, public parks and reserves, bushland, recreational facilities, housing estates, institutions and industrial complexes.
2   Link   RTF50203 Diploma of Horticulture (Arboriculture) -NSW
This course is for people seeking the skills and knowledge to work independently, or at a supervisory or managerial level, or to operate a business in the arboriculture industry. It focuses on advanced technical, managerial and business skills as well as the underpinning knowledge required to apply these skills in the workplace. This course will enable you to gain a qualification in arboriculture giving you the opportunity to undertake a range of specialist studies in the arboriculture sector. This course is particularly suited to skilled horticultural tradespeople who want to enhance their skills and knowledge for career advancement to managerial positions. This course is under review and may be replaced.
3   Link   Certificate III in Horticulture - Arboriculture (Vic)
This qualification is part of the Amenity Horticulture Training Package, Arboriculture stream, and provides training for employment as an arboricultural tradesperson. Students will develop the skills and knowledge needed to maintain and manage trees in gardens, parks and streetscapes, protect and rehabilitate trees, provide advice on tree planting and maintenance, and evaluate the health and value of trees.
4   Link   Certificate IV in Horticulture - Arboriculture (Vic)
This qualification is part of the Amenity Horticulture Training Package. It is for people interested in acquiring arboricultural skills at supervisory level in order to improve safety in the industry, to improve their chances of promotion, to broaden the range of arboricultural activities undertaken by an enterprise, and to assist in the establishment of safe, professional arboricultural companies. Work undertaken by arboricultural supervisors could include supervising and training staff; supervising and planning arboricultural activities; promoting quality tree care and health; recommending trees; and assessing trees.
5   Link   Diploma of Horticulture - Arboriculture (Vic)
This qualification is part of the Amenity Horticulture Training Package, Arboriculture stream. It is designed for qualified arboriculture supervisors as a preparation for advancement to a managerial role.
